I'm working on the rear brakes of my ride and ran into something odd , the brake lining inside the rear drum is missing a chunk. I've been scouring the web and can't find much on how to properly replace it. I already pulled what I think is the brake drum from the hub, but it looks like the lining is permanently bonded to the drum itself.
The part I'm looking at is listed as Rear Brake Drum (PN 4XY-25321-00) and I'm trying to confirm if it actually comes with the lining pre installed or if I'm going to need to source that separately. Anyone here know for sure? now, here's the dilemma , the replacement drum isn't cheap. It's getting close to the price of doing a full rear disc brake conversion (thinking of the Trailmaster kit). I'm really on the fence , stick with OEM and keep it original, or bite the bullet and go modern with the disc setup?
